We’re excited to share that Eco Brooklyn has been featured in the latest issue of Luxury Portfolio Magazine (Vol. 15, Issue 1), a global publication that celebrates excellence in design and sustainable living. The theme of the issue is Making Connections, which couldn’t be more fitting for the work we do: helping New Yorkers connect with nature right where they live and work.
Our feature showcases one of Eco Brooklyn’s most iconic projects: an outdoor living wall in NYC built on the exterior of a historic Brooklyn Brownstone. We retrofitted the facade with a lush vertical garden, turning brick into a living, breathing space that’s both stunning and sustainable.
As our founder, Gennaro Brooks-Church shared in the article, “The two main considerations are water and light.” Every outdoor living wall that we create in NYC is unique to its space, whether that’s full sun on a south-facing wall or deep shade on the north side. We design smart irrigation systems and choose plants that thrive in NYC’s urban environment.
Being featured alongside world-class green architecture projects like Milan’s Bosco Verticale is a proud moment for our team. It is a reminder that New York is ready to go green in a big way.
“Nature is a bunch of interconnecting organisms working in harmony,” Gennaro said. “That’s what living buildings are really about.”
