They have it down in the sense that they understand training green builders is more than technical info. It is about community outreach, personal empowerment and large scale advocacy – essencially a holistic approach to living and teaching.

Sustainable South Bronx is one of the organizations that Eco Brooklyn has teamed up with. Their graduates have the option of coming to Eco Brooklyn as interns to gain real job experience on our sites. We offer them a safe place to explore what it is like to be on a green job site. We give them pointers on basic job stuff like how to manage a daily work rhythm to real world construction situations. And if they screw up it is ok because they are in a more understanding environment than your typical job site.
